Lincoln is 57. He was educated at St Paul’s School in London and at Stirling University where he studied Theology and Philosophy. The Royal Military Academy Sandhurst Lincoln won the Sword of Honour.
He subsequently Commanded the 1st Battalion, Scots Guards
During his service, Lincoln was deployed to Northern Ireland, Iraq and Afghanistan. On 5 December 1997, he was awarded the Military Cross “in recognition of gallant and distinguished services in Sierra Leone. He commanded the Scots Guards in Afghanistan in the summer of 2010, and was awarded the Queen’s Commendation in recognition of his of “gallantservices”. He commanded his regiment at the Trooping of the Colour – (The Queen’s Birthday Parade) in 2011
After retiring from active military service, Lincoln went into business and has held significant positions in various organisations, including The Pension SuperFund, where he was director and chief operating officer.
He was elected MP for Spelthorne in July 2024
Lincoln Jopp is married to Caroline, co-founder of the Military Choirs organisation. They have been married for over 30 years and have 3 children together.
